Chandra Grahan April 26-4-2013 - Partial Lunar Eclipse in Entire India - Ansika Grahan - Moon Eclipse Date, Time in 2013

Chandra Grahan (Partial Lunar Eclipsewhich occurs post midnight of April 25, 2013 - Thursday (actually April 26, Friday, begins when the eclipse starts) is visible throughout India.


Eclipse Time


1.24 am to 1.52 am IST on April 26, 2013 (Friday - very early morning)
- Mid Eclipse or Greatest Eclipse (Madya Kaal) is at 1.37 am IST

The eclipse starts (Sparsha Kaal) at 1.24 am and ends (Moksha Kaal) at 1.52 am in all parts of India. Mid Eclipse (Madya Kaal) is at 1.37 am.

Partial Lunar Eclipse is visible in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia. Chandra Grahan can be seen in entire India including Chennai (Madras), Mumbai (Bombay), New Delhi, Kolkata (Calcutta), Bengaluru (Bangalore), Hyderabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Kurukshetra, Allahabad, Varanasi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad.


Next Lunar Eclipse:


- May 25, 2013 - Saturday - Not visible in India
- October 19, 2013 - Saturday - Penumbral Lunar Eclipse - Only of astronomical importance. Not visible to human eyes. Can be seen only through telescope.

What is Chandra Grahan?


Lunar Eclipse occurs when Moon moves behind earth, such that sun rays falling on it are blocked and earth's shadow falls on Moon. Chandra Grahanam occurs only on Purnima (Full Moon Day).
